I want to be… [ June 15th, 2007 ] Posted in » Feelings / Emotions

Ever since we’re kids, we have a blurred and hazy picture of what we want to be, or do, when we grow up. And I’m not talking just about college, careers, etc. I’m talking about ‘we’ as people. I always thought that with my upbringing I’d be this prim and proper girl who always has to please her parents and can do no wrong. The good kid who gets good marks and stays away from the wild crowd. A doctor maybe…to ‘help people who are suffering’. Good grades, good college, good friends..selfless and sacrificing life, with my ‘perfect love’ besides me who is moulded for me and we all will just live happily ever after..

Well that turned out to be utter bullshit. Yes, perceptions do change as you grow up…your morals change, values change, outlook changes..but to such an extent? Things which you were so staunchly against, things which were against your principles, things which you resolved never to do in your lifetime, become so mundane and ordinary. I thought people who take drugs are ‘bad people’ and now some of my best friends smoke up all the time. I thought coming first in class was the be all and end all of my existence…and now…well, I would not like to comment on my scores.. Lol. I’m not questioning myself. Neither am I wondering what went wrong with me…I don’t think anything did. I guess this is just part of growing up. I was just looking into some old slam books today, and I saw what I used to be like..even 1 year ago! College sure does change people.

I wanted to be and do so many things as a kid. I wanted the world at my feet. I was to be pious, religious and a good kid. I just kept wanting, dreaming, hoping….but things have turned out so differently. At the end of the day, all I can say is, I’m so happy I am what I am right now, it’s hard to imagine. Atleast I am me and not what everyone wanted me to be, or a stupid idealistic picture I painted of myself in my head.. I love the paths I have chosen, the paths I have been forced to choose (due to lack of choice :D ), and the way ahead. It’s ok if you’re not what you always wanted to be, as a person, or as in a profession, or anything. At the end of the day…whatever makes you happy.

Oh, and by the way, Rahul change my blog please. It’s not the old one, it’s now www.ataxia.wordpress.com

Thanks. :)

Wake Up!

This was on the front page of The Tribune today.
WAKE UP!

Lets wake up. Let us fight for our rights. Let us all join the medical students. Now its not just about the reservations! Stand up for what is right. The govt. needs to be taught a lesson.

They can’t stop the rioters in Gujrat. The policemen themselves rape young girls. Criminals like Manu Sharma roam about freely. The police only acts (lathicharges) when there are peaceful protests. FUCK YOU! Plain and simple!!

PRO RESERVATION VIEWS ! ! !

i dont really understand how u guys see this…..
but i’ve heard a hell lot of stuff abt the fact that there shudnt be reservation. its also a torture to hear ppl say the same thing again again that 50% is too much…..
so, 4 starters let me give u the bare facts-
52% ppl living in our country are O.B.Cs
15% ppl living in our country are S.Cs
7.5% ppl are S.Ts
TOTAL =73% OF THE POPULATION.
16% (about) muslims
2% sikhs
3% (about) buddhists, jains , parsis etc
6% upper class (brahmans etc)
TOTAL = 27% OF THE POPULATION.

i am sorry if i am exaggerating but i have had a major discussion on this topic at skool today….
and ppl tell me that even with the reservations, its only the creamy layer in s.cs and s.ts who get the advantage….that having reservation in the iims wud probably put up some one less deserving up there??????
one thousand years of suppression…how do u define that….
has anyone one ever seen a tribal area which is sometimes geographically cut off for 8-9 months in a year frm the rest of the world, or the condition of the schools and hospitals there?????
has anyone ever seen the condition of the o.b.cs in bihar and jharkhand?
ppl find it hard to keep the pot boiling 4 their daily meal and u talk abt not gud enough????
before the mandal commission there was not even a single i.a.s/i.p.s officer frm lahul spitti, but after the commission there have been almost 15 of them.
the aftermath- an inspiration to every child, to look beyond being just farmers…

during vajpayee’s rule somewhere in 2000, kanchi ram of the bahujan samaj party asked the govt to stop the reservations, he said we dont need reservations….stop them!!! but vajpayee didnt??? why????
mandal commission was started by v.p.singh who was of the general category and not from s.c, s.t or o.b.c. !!!!!!!

The truth is that the politicians in our country are very well aware of the fact that if the reservations are removed then we will, most certainly arrive at a satge of caste-riots i.e
73 % versus 27%

Callous Cops

I’m starting the Reservation debate again.

I see images of the Police lathi charging the doctors and it fills me with anger instantly. What have the students done to deserve a beating? They just sit there quietly shouting slogans or sitting on a dharna.

The same thing happened in Gurgaon last year when the police behaved in a brutal manner with the workers of Honda. They are doing the same again.

These children are educated citizens. They are not indulging in vandalism. Unlike vagabonds, they are peacefully asking for the fulfillment of their demands. But it seems that the police and the government just do what they think is right. Peaceful protesters are greeted with teargas and sticks. The students can’t and don’t even retaliate.

The police is behaving in a very uncivilized manner. I seriously wish Arjun Singh dies.
I’m eighteen, entitled to vote. Rest assured, the Congress aint getting my vote.

More students, not just the medicos, should come forward and join the strike. The government won’t listen until they are given a kick up their rear. Till now, the strikes have been peaceful. But if it continues this way, it won’t take long for the students to take up arms and battle it out with the police. Bloody brutes!!

my world ! (sorry rahul, you asked me to post something general , but i felt there was need for this post.

Not much far away from the world of reality, there exists another world, some call it a dream, some the world of fantasy.every beauty and greatness in this world is created by a single thought or emotion inside a man, everything we see today, made by past generation was, before its appearance ,a thought in the mind of a man or an impulse in the heart of a women.where i rule the mighty powers and i hold those positions and powers which i dream of making in the world of reality, iam the king , iam the warrior whatever happens, iam the winner and iam the loser, where i speak for myself and i stand up for myself. iam nothing but everything in this part of world.i leave in a small house but my windows look at the larger world. so im always a funfiled fellow. whoever wants to add me in their friends list can do so,

destination designed

we have been brought up the way our parents and teachers wanted to bring us up. if the priority in youngster`s lives today is luxury, and indifference towards others. it is because their parents care for none and wish to live in luxury. if students today are languishing in coaching centres slogging away for marks , it is because their parents and teachers want them to become scoring machine.
if every student you meet believes that he should be a doctor or an engineer and earn lots of money, it is because his parents ,teachers and relatives have conditioned him to think like that.

they just end up doing what their parents want ,with out giving enough time to bring out their talents which they find hidden inside. before they could say , some thing abt their dreams , they are asked to do this/that. after passing out from the college, they realize what they have done to their god gifted talents(extra activities including ,writing, sports,). parents need to give their children enough space and hinder, so that he/she could think of her own and achieve those dreams which we often look back after moving the stage, ones we wanted to be. your sons and daughters are going to make it big one day. once they go that stage, they will not come back to the age of a child.so let them enjoy for being what they are……..

Is what is being done right ???

There is this friend of mine, in my class, very nicely known to me. She is from a very well-off rather elite family with almost all riches, her dad being a city-famous lawyer and what not!? Now the timing b/w her parents is not really the way it should be but they are just living under one roof because of their social status. There is gender discrimination also as my friend is discriminated from her very own brother. Except from the luxuries and the comforts, her parents provide her with little love or affection. All the frustration and tension in the house obviously leads to bad results. She is kinda dumb, which makes her the laughing stock of the class. Moreover whichever guy she tries to approach, that guy turns out to be a big-time bastard, according to her.! She isn’t good in studies, if has any talent—then never has she showcased it, and the present situation is that her life is in a complete mess and a disaster. Because of all these not-very-good things, she is not interested or determined to do anything in life. No career or anything.

Her parents want her to do law and carry the family tradition going. Now, 1st of all, she is not at all convincing to pursue law and more so, law holds no interest for her. Her apparent riches and Carmel-education has made her rebellious and it’s time she had a reality check. Now last night, she might have had a small talk with her parents about career which resulted in a massive beating of hers. Her mum beat her tight leaving visibly painful bruises, sprains and wounds. Almost all day her eyes were moist. The problem—she wants to go abroad but her parents have enrolled her into law tuition already—starting very soon.

She cannot talk to her parents about anything—her dad being the typical strict-stern fathers, her mother being busy in her diamonds and kitty-parties. Because of all this she has become the way she is—stubborn, dumb, kinda haughty and does not really contains good personality traits. This definitely shows at home also and according to me, her parents must be worried about her casual approach towards life. This is a chain reaction. The word is ADJUSTMENT and it is nowhere to be seen. I’ve told her to visit a councilor but she says that she can’t do so.

The problem is not of the physical wounds that this family gives to each other, but the spoiling of an institution which is so beautiful. They are spoiling her life.

Just a week before she told me,” Divi, I bought Tommy Hilfiger shoes worth Rs. 5000. Damn they look luxurious, rich!” I just thought to myself—- is this the real wealth, or she is just diverting herself from the real life.

got dumped !!!!! wanna impress girls !!!

just looking good or dressing up yourself in a metrosexual way will not make you get noticed by the girls, at least once in a life time a guy faces this kind of problem, but it remains unheard of because they just wont admit it. this just goes to prove the time less fact good looks alone arent enough to captivate a women`s attention

women unlike men ,dont look for the visual effect alone.a lot of other facts like emotional stability, sense of humour, how they behave in public.
all comes into play, any intelligent smart women would prefer a man who has a classy and under stated sense of style rather than a loud flashy one.
some times they hesitate to stand guys with blond highlights and a bling bling sense of style.
even if you looked like john abraham and were as rich as mittal, no woman who holds her head high would give you a second glance,if your attitude screamed “im a dude”
we are living in a global society that is constantly working to achieve an egalitarian status,so there is no chance for people with an “im-the-best-thing-that-happened-to-this-world”attitude.

women always want a man who can keep her hooked with interesting, animated conversations.i think i dont need to tell that inane conversation can be a relationship killer.
for women communication is directly proportional to how much a man cares for her,how capable he is and a measure for his concerns.

a man who cant impress her with verbal and non-verbal,cant hold her attention for too long” , sense of humour and good communication skills are the greatest turn-on in a man. to know this reality, confide in a good friend and do a reality check. all the best……………

Its “HOT” out There

Well everybody in and around Chandigarh must be thinking that actually its not “hot out there” but the ‘mausam’ has cooled down a little bit after the downpour that was last night. but hey ppl what are you thinking…. its just early may. have you forgotten the burning june and the humid and yuck july? nahi bhai… the hot weather blues are here to stay. The sweat, which drips on your back and you just die outa frustration, the hot wind which makes you think you are in sahara desert and not to forget the powercuts, which have made the AC your dad got you just another piece of furniture in your home… so just sit back and relax… errrr do something to get rid of all these troubles which are coming your way….

i know, i know… you cant think!!! the hot weather has already gone to your head and your head has stopped working… so the only cool mind that is at work( ahem ahem)…. i.e. I will tell you what exactly to do and save your ass from burning in this heat… here are some tips, just follow them and you wont notice how the summer went away…

1. STAY INSIDE….. arey what the F@#$. Its burning like hell out there. Staying inside is the most adviseable thing to do right now. Watch some movie at home, study if you want , you can always sleep, hang out with your parents and for a change your mom will be happy that her girl/boy has started spending time at home.
2. USE PROTECTION…. you dirty mind, i was talking about protection against sun and the hot winds outside. This tip is for those ppl who cannot keep their butts inside… arey use an umbrella, or a cap. Especially cover all parts of the skin that are exposed… girls please pay extra attention coz if you get a nasty sun tan… all that fan following you have developed among boys will start looking for their new diva, ofcourse we dont want that.
3. EAT LOTSO FRUITS… eat fruits like watermelon, muskmelon etc. arey the rehri wala has braved such heat to provide you with some of the best things in the world. you have to atleast do justice to his hardwork. so buy those fruits and eat them for your own good.
4. DRINK LOTSO WATER… yes this is as simple as it gets. coz if you sweat, you will dehydrate which may lead to your fainting… and no body is gonna pick up a smelly, sweaty dumb ass who just fell down while walking. so better not dehydrate, drink water.
5. USE a DEODRANT… this is for all those who believe in social service and have chosen saving water as the mission of their lives. Also those who have not read the last tip and have opted for fainting plz do use a deo… if some noble person wants to pick you up after fainting, he should not die coz of the stink in your clothes. see its very simple… if you dont stink, you are helping thy neighbour. social service alll the way.
6. DONT EAT OUTSIDE… yep. stay away from those chat waalas and golgappa waalas if you want to stay in good health. coz he uses the same knife to cut onions and wipe sweat from his brow. i need not say more.

so these were some of the DO’s which you have to follow for making the hot summer a lot cooler one. simple as they may seem, but are full of wisdom.

remember ppl, its gonna be hot out there

improve your aim !!! improve yourself !!!

one of the greatest discoveries a man makes , to one of his great surprise,is to find he can do! what he was afraid he couldnt do. to explain this let me take you through a small story.

there was a king with a small army, the captain of the army was not confident to win a war with another country.so, the king went for a toss by starting if we get a head ,God is with us,we will win and if we get the other side we will lose the battle.they won the toss, warriors were motivated and fought with the hope that god was with them.at last they won the war.

the captian told the king “only bcoz God is with us ! victory came. the king laughed and showed the coin which had the same on both side and said,no with the hope of having god with us,we fought with strong will power! which paves the way for victory.the kings action ,was nothing but motivation and extension of positive thinking within the soldeirs, if one possess strong will power, he can win anything, anywhere and anytime.

sachin tendulkar, sania mirza, kalpana chawla, leander paes, joshna chinappa, narein kartikeyan, who did the country proud by their achievements in respective fields only due to their will power and positive thinking.
we all have dreams which are different in every aspect.our dream may indicate the great possibilities that are in store for us in the future years to come. a dream may precede all big works and achievements.but even for converting dreams into reality, the role of positive thinking is very important.

You, all need to show the world is the results of your positive thinking, not the blue print of your dream.the world expects results. do not talk to them about your labour pain, instead show them the little baby. everything depends upon the human mind, which is capable of creating positive and negative thinking.it is our duty to train our mind to have full of positive thinking. the route cause of success, which not only avoids failure and brings the name and fame to live even after bidding farewell to this world.

always remember nothing great was ever achieved with out enthusiasm.

its simple to train your brain ; ask yourself how was your day ? if your answer is “great” then you have started training your brain to think positive.
