Helmet : I’m not wearing that silly hat!
That’s what the ladies in India say.
I don’t get it. A rule is a rule and its meant for everyone to follow. Why are women in India, specially Chandigarh, allowed to roam freely on two-wheelers without helmets whereas guys are fined if found without helmets. It’s fine if Sardarji’s are exempted because their problem is genuine. But why Sardarnis? They have to cover their heads - they can do that with a helmet instead of a dupatta when they are on a two-wheeler. They say it would look funny when a Sardarji is riding without a helmet whereas his wife, the pillion rider, is wearing a helmet. Lousy excuse!!
Even the local leaders supported this argument. They said that it hurt the reiligious sentiments of the people. One person even went onto say that he would not like to see girls with messed-up hair when they remove their helmets. Is that guy out of his mind??
Girls have the easy way out. Even if they are caught by policemen for some violation, all they have to do is shed a tear and they are let off. The guys on the other hand are even abused.
The first time the police was actually doing was it claims to do - “We care for you”.
Isn’t this gender bias?

ladies, girls, fems—-all should wear helmets. n that xcuse of messy hair is baseless coz helmets actually prevent ur hair 2 b blown up!

i always wear a helmet! (uv seen that disgustin thing haven’t u??) cz it’s for safety n not for not gettin chaaland! i absolutely agree wid u!

hmm… im thinking of the otherway round … gurls pls dont wear helmets so that even we get exempted from it .. on ur basis … ha ha ha …

yes, niharika baby, i am proud of you for that and also for the fact that ur a sensible driver. people have to realise that helmets can save us, in some cases, n its better 2 have re-arranged hair that can be straightened out, instead of a disfigured brain with no solution. i HATE road accidents ! (i guess we all do) they’re one of the most senseless forms of death.
